President

Natividad (Naty) Hernandez Ortiz is a Program Associate with the US Programs at The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation. With an M.S. in Health & Kinesiology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Naty brings a diverse background in grantmaking, research, and women’s health to her role. A proud immigrant from Hidalgo, Mexico, she’s passionate about creating opportunities for others to thrive.

When she’s not working, Naty loves hiking and baking sweet treats with her daughter, Nataly Sofia. She also leads a vibrant community of literary enthusiasts as the founder of Latinas Libros & Cafecito, a book club that blends great reads with meaningful conversations.

Iris Servellon

Treasurer

Iris Servellon is the current Treasurer. She has served on MYLPA’s Board of Directors since 2018. She is currently working as a Manufacturing Specialist for Streck. She holds an M.S. in Project Management from Bellevue University. Her background is in project management and biotechnology.

Lupe Marquez-Eberly

Boys and Girls Club of Omaha

Scholarship Chair

Lupe is the current Scholarship Chair. Lupe has experience working with youth for over 10 years. Being a first-generation student and a Dreamer, she recognizes the impact of having a plan after high school. Lupe graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with her bachelor's in psychology and master's in counseling. In her free time she enjoys fabric arts, biking, and spending time with her family and cats.

Carolina Ibarra Nielsen

Learning Communities of Douglas and Sarpy Counties

Secretary

Carolina Ibarra Nielsen is the current Secretary. She has served on MYLPA’s Board of Directors since 2021. She is currently the Program Manager of the Learning Community Center of South Omaha. She holds a B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is working towards a graduate degree. Her background is in social services and nonprofit work.

Guillermo Martinez

Mutual of Omaha

Membership/Social Chair

Guillermo Martinez is the current Membership and Social Chair. Guillermo was selected to serve on MYLPA’s Board starting in January 2025. Originally from Sinton, Texas, Guillermo attended Creighton University School of Law where he fell in love with Omaha. Guillermo is an associate attorney at Sherrets Bruno & Vogt LLC in Omaha. Guillermo is currently President of the Nebraska Hispanic Bar Association. Guillermo’s practice areas include representing corporations and non-profits which brings a helpful perspective to the MYLPA Board.

Miguel Estevez

Estevez Archie Therapy LLC

At-Large Board Member

Miguel is a bilingual Spanish speaking Licensed Independent Mental Health Therapist (LIMHP) in Nebraska, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). He attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology; and earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He now has the honor to be an adjunct professor at the masters program and one of the few Latinos to teach in the counseling department at UNO. He also owns his own practice Estevez Archie Therapy where he provides therapy via telehealth across Colorado and Nebraska. 

Adrian Almeida

Adrian is a second-year law student at Creighton University School of Law. Prior to law school, he worked as an analyst for the Intermodal team at Werner Enterprises. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. His background is in finance and transportation.

Jan Benitez

Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation

At-Large Board Member

Jan has served on the MYLPA board since 2020. He is a proud first generation immigrant from Honduras. Jan received his Bachelors degree in Social Work (2015) and Masters in Public Administration (2020) from the University of Nebraska Omaha. He is passionate about developing opportunities for young people and has over a decade of experience in nonprofit management with organizations that focus on education and workforce. When he’s not working he loves traveling, trying new restaurants, and playing/watching soccer.
